Can someone please save us from punk rock 101?

Current Music: Punk Rock 101 // Bowling for Soup
The mechanical green frog thing came hopping through the forest, coming to a stop almost on top of Billy… right before he blew it up with a yelp. His nerves were starting to run towards ‘frazzled’, and he really could have done without the extra surprise of… whatever it was… after dealing the zombies and meeting Ricochet (who’s autograph he so needed to get before this was all over).

(Tag Billy, Cassie, Johnny, Tommy, Gert, Lila, Kristoff, Nico, and Topher)

speedclonenot at 2007-05-15 22:02 (UTC) (Link)
Following the frog was painfully slow. He didn't dare ask if Nico could speed it up though. Didn't want to find out if she was protective of her magic as some witches were.

When it finally found Billy Tommy gave a whoop, "Billy! I think this is the first time I'm actually happy to see you!" He hugged his frazzled looking look-a-like.

billykaplan at 2007-05-15 22:09 (UTC) (Link)
Billy yelped again, nearly blowing Tommy up before realizing that he wasn't being attacked by a high speed zombie. "Jeeze, Tommy, way to give a guy a heart attack!"

Nico, for her part, had almost immidiately over to and clung to Old Lace and Gert, muttering 'Thank God' under her breath over and over again. She glared over her shoulder at Topher as Old Lace growled, and the vampire put on an innocent face.

"We're stuck in the same trap, I'm not about to fuck up my chances of escaping!" Topher said.
speedclonenot at 2007-05-15 22:15 (UTC) (Link)
Tommy laughed, and made introductions "Ok, hot vampire boy is Topher, but I like calling him Angel better. The goth chick whoes hotness you probably can't appericaitate is Nico, she's a witch too. Then we have Doom Jr. and little Miss Creepy also know as Lila. She doesn't like me for some reason."

He looked around at the people Billy had been with waved at Cassie and then looked at the dinosaur. "Is that a real dinosaur?"
Cassie Lang
magnetlips at 2007-05-15 22:57 (UTC) (Link)
Cassie hadn't moved since the other group found them. She stared at "Doom Jr."

No way. "Kristoff?"

"Cassandra?" Kristoff Vernard looked equally surprised.

No way! "Oh my God!" Cassie practically tackled Kristoff with a hug.

"Well, isn't this just one big happy reunion?" Topher drawled, pointedly ignoring Tommy at this point. He was just slightly occupied making sure there was something between himself and Old Lace.

Not that he couldn't take the dino down easy, but he was in no mood for a fight with something he couldn't even make a proper meal out of.

Then Tommy's words registered in his brain. "... did you just call me hot?"
speedclonenot at 2007-05-15 23:22 (UTC) (Link)
"Well, that's new and exciting," Tommy said as he watched Cassie tackle Kristolf, "Never seen her tackle anyone before." He looked over at Billy, unwrapped his arms from around the spell castor's shoulders and gave a small shove putting some distance between them and looked over at Topher. "Why, yes, yes I did call you hot. Has the fact that I called you Spike and Angel not registered that? If I didn't think you were hot I would call you Acathla, or something."
The Evil Storyteller
evilst at 2007-05-15 23:24 (UTC) (Link)
"You're trying to do something like weird me out, aren't you," Topher said flatly. "Of course, if what they say about speedsters is true, then you're probably swish anyway..."

It was likely a testiment to the bad day Billy was having when everyone's hair started standing on end, and static electricity crackled off his fingers.
speedclonenot at 2007-05-15 23:32 (UTC) (Link)
Sensing Billy's irritation Tommy quickly edged away, "Right, Billy, let's get you somewhere where you can rest 'kay? No need to fry everyone."

He turned to Topher, "Northstar's the only gay Speedster I know of. Me? I just call 'em as I see 'em."
Billy Kaplan

"I'm fine," Billy said calmly, still sparking a little. "Did you see Teddy or any of the others out there? We need to find them."
speedclonenot at 2007-05-15 23:56 (UTC) (Link)
"No. You're not fine." Tommy gave a small sigh, "And No, I haven't seen Teddy or the others; just you and Cassie." He gave the spell castor a serious look. He liked Billy, a lot. More than he would admit, but there were times where he wanted to smack the other teen silly. "You need to rest. You'll burn yourself out otherwise."
Cassie Lang
magnetlips at 2007-05-15 23:59 (UTC) (Link)
Cassie turned away from Kristoff momentarily. "We'll find the others soon. Maybe they're lucky and aren't even here and are worrying about where we are." Probably not but Billy needed to relax.
Billy Kaplan
billykaplan at 2007-05-16 02:23 (UTC) (Link)
“Your lips to God’s ear,” Billy murmured. “But we can’t just stick around. Who knows when the zombies will show up again? Or those flying things? And we’re not going to find a way out just sticking around here.”
speedclonenot at 2007-05-16 02:29 (UTC) (Link)
"No," Tommy admited, "But we need to get some rest. Obviously we'll be here for awhile, might as well set up camp and take turns on the watch. And if you argue with me I swear my mom that I will knock you out."
Kristoff Vernard
kristoffv at 2007-05-16 02:34 (UTC) (Link)
"Forgive me," Kristoff began. "But I do not know any of you," He looked to the newcomers. "And I would feel safer if I did."

Cassie held Kristoff's arm. "There's nothing to worry about, these are my friends. Well, Billy is. And the others are good enough, Gert has a dinosaur how can you not like that?" The girl was unmistakably cheery now that Kristoff is here.

Kristoff did not seem convinced.
ya_rpg_npc at 2007-05-16 02:39 (UTC) (Link)
Unlike Cassie, "little Miss Creepy" Lila seemed to have taken a turn towards displeasure.

This "Cassandra" was clearly a threat to Lila's safety. Kristoff Vernard already knew her and was clearly quite fond of her. As long as Cassandra was present, Kristoff Vernard would be more likely to protect her rather than Lila.

Lila had no intention of letting that happen.
Billy Kaplan
billykaplan at 2007-05-16 02:47 (UTC) (Link)
“Code names,” Billy sighed. “Wonderful things used to maintain secret identities. You know, so parents don-” He stopped short, the fanboy part of his brain jumping up and down to get his attention. “Kristoff, Kristoff… the Kristoff? Adopted son of Dr. Doom?”

“Wait, this is Dr. Doom’s kid?” Nico said, leaning on the Staff and pointing to Kristoff. “You’re Doom’s kid?”
Kristoff Vernard
kristoffv at 2007-05-16 02:53 (UTC) (Link)
That made Kristoff even more uneasy. "I was not aware I was well known. My adopted father and I had a... falling out of sorts."
speedclonenot at 2007-05-16 03:05 (UTC) (Link)
Tommy threw up his hands in exasperation, "Doesn't anyone listen to me? I already called him on being Doom Jr.!" He spun and pointed at Billy, "Which is dorkness I got from you by the way."
disc_thrower at 2007-05-16 03:08 (UTC) (Link)
Johnny couldn't help but to roll his eyes.

"Wait, when did Doctor Doom have a kid?"
Kristoff Vernard
kristoffv at 2007-05-16 03:09 (UTC) (Link)
Kristoff fought hard not to roll his eyes. "He did not have a son, he adopted me. May we discuss more important things now?" His voice carried the signature impatience of Doom.
ya_rpg_npc at 2007-05-16 03:12 (UTC) (Link)
"Kristoff is right." Lila said, resting a hand on his arm. "There are far more important things to talk about than our families. Do you people even know where we are?"

Idiots, all of them. They probably had no idea what kind of danger they were in.

A benefit, possibly, in the case of "Cassandra".
Billy Kaplan
billykaplan at 2007-05-16 15:15 (UTC) (Link)
“Don’t blame me for your dorkiness,” Billy said. “According to K- to Hawkeye, you managed just fine on your own.” He cracked his knuckles. “Anyway, we need to find the others, or find a place where we can actually hole up for a little while and make a plan.”

He eyed the red haired girl. “I was thinking maybe we got kidnapped by Mojo or something like that,” he said.
ya_rpg_npc at 2007-05-16 15:21 (UTC) (Link)
"You would be incorrect." Lila replied flatly. "This place was created by my mother's older half-brother, to supply him with victims for his powers. The more people he kills, personally, the more power he gains. Especially if the victims in question have powers." She gestured at the sky. "How can you not see that this place is built on death?"
arsenic_witch at 2007-05-17 07:10 (UTC) (Link)
Gert didn't feel very social. She had given a Nico a hug as soon as she saw her but for the most part she was uncharcthristly withdrawn from the social events in front of her. Maybe it was shock from being mauled by a zombie bat or maybe she just felt the need to let other people be smart mouths. But Lila's question finally sparked her sarcsm once again. "I'm from LA I am pretty used to institutions bulit on death and expliotation. You begin not to notice it after a while. How do we beat this guy is what we should be focusing on"
speedclonenot at 2007-05-17 12:22 (UTC) (Link)
"Yeah, we're kinda used to the death thing, me, Cassie, and the witch boy have just faced an alien invasion, so we got the death thing covered and used to."

He looked over at Lila, giving her a meaningful stare. He didn't like her and he knew she didn't like him, which wasn't an unusual occurrence; he disliked people, they disliked him back, it was normal. Little Miss Creepy on the other hand did more than just invoke his dislike, she set off vibes that he couldn't quite explain. He guessed if push came to shove she would only look out for herself, which he was fine with, but something told him to keep an eye on the red head.

He turned back to Billy and swated at him, "I absorbed your particular superhero dorkiness. Through like osmosis or something."
ya_rpg_npc at 2007-05-17 16:26 (UTC) (Link)
Lila shook her head. "Defeating him isn't an option. He's over a thousand years old, cannot be killed, and is quite insane. But he's smart and this is the place of his power." she looked around at the group. "My mother will come to rescue me, as soon as she figures it out. She'll help you all as well."

Mother was always looking for more people for her super soldier project, after all.

"In the meantime, we need to focus on staying hidden." she looked over at the Staff that Nico still held in her hand. "We need to get rid of that thing first."

((OOC: Next comment in a new comment thread please))

Nico’s grip on the Staff tightened, and she tensed. “Fuck that,” she said, her eyes narrowing.

Topher cleared his throat, keeping as many people between him and both Lila and Nico as he could. “I hate to say this, but I’m siding with Nico here. Y’see, sweetcheeks, I think I’ve got a damn good idea of who your mother is, and who we’re dealing with.” He shuddered. “You’re a goddamn Mox, and I don’t think I’m gonna trust you any further than glasses over there could throw me.”
ya_rpg_npc at 2007-05-17 16:50 (UTC) (Link)
"My mother was a Mox." Lila replied flatly. "I never have been. And if you know what we're dealing with, vampire, then you must know that he is going to be able to sense that Staff and he is going to want it and he is going to come find it." She looked over at Nico. "That Staff you hold is the sibling of the Knife the Beast carries. There were more, originally, but at least two of the Tools have been destroyed, and some of the others are bound and hidden. Aside from his Knife, that Staff is the only thing he's going to be able to get without much trouble."

"I'm not saying this because I want you powerless." she continued. "I'm saying this because I want to survive this and be able to go home." she blinked hard and looked at her feet, then at Kristoff. "You believe me, don't you?" she asked softly.
Kristoff Vernard
kristoffv at 2007-05-19 02:42 (UTC) (Link)
That was a question Kristoff wasn't sure he could answer. But he could provide what he thought was most correct.

"Yes, you are as vulnerable as any of us. However if we were to discard the Staff our enemy would gain its power, would he not? If we were to keep it we could use it against him."
ya_rpg_npc at 2007-05-19 03:30 (UTC) (Link)
Unless she's smarter than she looks, that girl doesn't know a damn thing about that Staff. Lila very carefully didn't say.

"He's had centuries to build up his knowledge on the use of the Tools." she said. "I highly doubt that we'd have any chance if we were to allow him within earshot much less spell-casting range."
arsenic_witch at 2007-05-21 07:16 (UTC) (Link)
This whole situation pissed Gert off. First they were kidnapped and separated by some crappy generic evil wizard. Then some bimbo red head bosses everyone around. Despite her rage she tried to act as the force of reason, hoping to avoid another pointless superhero fight. "Hey red head, you seem to know what is going on. But I don't think Nico will get rid of her Staff until you convince everyone here that you have our best interests at heart and your not working for Mr. Kidnapping Wizard"
disc_thrower at 2007-05-24 06:39 (UTC) (Link)
Johnny nodded his head in agreement with Nico and Gert. He'd seen that staff in action. Whatever they were up against, he definitely thought it was a good idea that it stay with them.

"I'm with the girls on this one. Getting rid of the staff is a very bad idea."
Kristoff Vernard
kristoffv at 2007-05-24 07:14 (UTC) (Link)
"Girls?" Kristoff snapped. "What am I? A eunuch!" Kristoff glared at the costumed man and folded his arms and at his height and with his armor he might indeed look menacing... if it were not for the fact that he very much looked like a fifteen year old boy playing dress up as Doom.
runawaywitch at 2007-05-24 18:46 (UTC) (Link)
It took a lot for Nico to keep from giggling at Kristoff and his attempt at being imposing. It was, she was willing to admit, a good attempt. “The Staff stays,” she said, looking at the red head. “If you want it gone, you’re going to have to take it from me. And I don’t think you’d like how that goes.”

Billy rubbed the bridge of his nose. “Never throw away a potential weapon,” he said with the kind of finality that told everyone that he was tired of this topic. “We need to keep moving.”

I need to find Teddy.

“Think you all can keep me covered while I try another finding spell?” he asked. “It seems like every time I try one, zombies show up.”
disc_thrower at 2007-05-24 18:57 (UTC) (Link)
Johnny nodded his head and with a grin pulled out a few discs from his jacket.

"I think we can keep some zombies busy for you."
speedclonenot at 2007-05-26 01:53 (UTC) (Link)
"The zombies won't be a problem at all!" Tommy chirpped happily, "It's like being an a real Resident Evil game." He leaned over and said softly to Billy, "Just don't over do it, 'kay? We'll have plenty of time to find your boy. Teddy's able to take care of himself."

Then he zipped over to Topher and grined, "Ready to fight zombies?"
disc_thrower at 2007-05-26 02:20 (UTC) (Link)
All Johnny did was nodded and got into a fighting pose with at least disc's in between his fingers. He grinned at the speedster and looked around.

"Glad to see someones with me on this one."
ya_rpg_npc at 2007-05-26 06:01 (UTC) (Link)
Ordinarily, Lila would have been more than happy to leave these idiots to their inevitable messy death. But here, in this place, they were the only "safety net" she had. She didn't doubt that the Beast was already watching them, due to the stupid girl and the staff, and she didn't want to think what would happen if she left the safety of numbers.

She shuddered violently and moved closer to Kristoff Vernard.

"I hate zombies." she murmured.
Kristoff Vernard
kristoffv at 2007-05-26 13:28 (UTC) (Link)
Kristoff did not mind being crowded by Cassie, but two girls was a bit much for him, especially given how little human contact he had had of late. He tensed.

"With our combined forces we are more than capable of dealing with the zombies." He cleared his throat. "Cassandra, I believe you should stay b-"

"Don't even finish that sentence, Kristoff."
ya_rpg_npc at 2007-05-26 18:40 (UTC) (Link)
Lila tensed as well and her eyes flashed, turning momentarily to a yellowish color. He had promised to protect her. So much for his being a "man of honor".

She pushed those feelings down, however. As soon as "Cassandra" was gone, he might still be useful, provided that Lila wasn't the obvious cause of the stupid blonde's death.

billykaplan at 2007-05-26 22:14 (UTC) (Link)
"Right," Billy said, taking a breath and cracking his knuckles. "But if a zombie eats me, I'm coming back to haunt all of you."

He took another breath and started to chant. "IwanttofindourfriendsIwanttofindourfriendsIwantto-"

He continued to chant, ignoring the screech of something large and predatory high overhead.

Many things invoked the rage and hatred of Gertrude Yorkes: Gated communities, global warming, genocide in Darfur, and Microsoft. Yet one of her biggest is something pet peeves is something that she would never admit. Gert hated seeing “pretty girls” use their sex appeal to manipulate people. In Gert’s mind “Lookism” was just like every other oppressive system within Western Capitalist society. Certain people won the genetic lottery and got the right parents or DNA, while everybody else had to work to scrape by.

Gert thought about telling Old Lace to steal the red headed girl’s pants as an expression of her anger. But Gert resisted the temptations of superhero infighting and instead whispered into Nico’s ear.

“Hey is there any spell that we can use to see if magical Malibu Stacie has our best interests at heart?”

Soon after she asked the question Gert saw another wave of zombie bat creatures. She flinched a bit remembering her last painful encounter with them. She positioned herself behind Nico. It was good to see Nico again because with the possible expectation of Wiccan she was the only person in the party she fully trusted.
runawaywitch at 2007-05-31 21:27 (UTC) (Link)
"Gimme a few minutes," Nico murmured back, keeping her eyes on the sky. Personally, she was thinking of doing something like sticking Red together with Topher and setting them both to fend for themselves.

But that the moment, the flying things were a slightly bigger problem.
ya_rpg_npc at 2007-06-10 06:39 (UTC) (Link)
Lila would suggest that the compatriots ought to make sure that their intended victim didn't have excellent hearing before plotting aloud, but if they insisted, she wasn't going to complain.

Aside from her sisters, Lila never really got along with other girls. Or boys for that matter, but at least the heterosexual ones could be counted on to become stupid when faced with a pair of breasts and a pretty face.

She took the spot behind Kristoff that Cassandra seemed to find so insulting. "What is the range on your weapons?" she asked the armored boy.
Kristoff Vernard
kristoffv at 2007-06-10 15:18 (UTC) (Link)
"I would prefer to conserve the power for an emergency." Kristoff paused. "But I suppose this qualifies." He raised his hand and shot one of the creatures out of the sky.
